How It’s Made: Branding Edition

Step 1: Discover Your Human

There’s something that we all do as business owners. You’ve done it. We’ve for sure done it. Everyone has done it. At one point or another, we’ve viewed our potential customers/clients as an email address or a phone number. We haven’t viewed them as a Human.

When we view our potential prospects as just an email address or phone number, we treat them like one. When we view our prospects as Humans everything changes. We begin to empathize with them easier and understand the pains and struggles they face. When you have that understanding of your Human, selling to them is easy. 

Step 2: Define Your Messaging

Excuse our French, but there are a shit ton of ads out there. Your Human is served on average over 10,000 commercial ads per day. Insane. How are you going to cut through all that noise? By defining your messaging and making sure it is clear.

What does having a clear message look like exactly? Love your question, but if we gave you all the answers it would be information overload. For now, let’s keep it basic. All you need to do is answer three simple questions:

  1. What problem is my Human experiencing?
  2. What is the solution to their problem? Hint: It’s your product/service
  3. What is the life-long benefit that the solution provides to your Human?

The three answers that you come up with are the first steps towards defining your messaging.
