Logo Design: DIY Or Hire A Professional

2 mins.

ogo design is something that used to only be possible with a professional graphic designer. Now with tools like Canva and other logo makers/generators anyone and everyone can be a graphic designer (to an extent).

In this blog, we’re going to keep it real short and sweet. Thank God right? We’re going to show you if you should DIY your logo or if you should get a professional involved.

DIY That Logo If:

  • You are just starting out
  • You have time
  • You don’t have strong market validation for your product or service
  • You don’t have a big budget ($2,000 - $5,000)
  • You are tech-savvy

Tap In A Professional If:

  • You have market validation and gaining traction with your business
  • You need help with your messaging
  • You need help defining exactly who your human is
  • You’re ready to have more than just a logo (a.k.a. You’re ready to have a whole brand created)
  • You have a budget from anywhere between $2,000 - $5,000
  • You want an original, unique logo (and brand)
  • You like having choices between different branding concepts
  • You don’t have any damn time to learn how to be a designer

If you found yourself having more check marks in the DIY logo section then hell yea! That may be a little confusing hearing that from a branding agency. We know. We love seeing creative entrepreneurs step up and tackle new things. We created a guide, 5 Things (Almost) All DIY Logos Get Wrong, and we know it’ll help you fix, or even avoid, common DIY logo design mistakes. Click here to learn more!

If you found yourself having more check marks in the hire a professional section that’s not a bad thing at all! You’ve got shit to do. Learning a new skill isn’t a part of all the other stuff you’ve got to do. We agree 100%. Schedule a call with us today and we can help bring your logo vision to life.
