If I were to show you a picture of two golden arches or an apple with a bite in it, would you know the company that represents? Of course you would. The reason why is because both of these companies (yes, it’s Mcdonald's and Apple) plaster their branding everywhere they possibly can. From a billboard to your TV screen to your phone, these companies will get their branding in your face at all costs. They want to create consistency with their branding so that it is recognizable anywhere - this is what’s known as brand recognition
Having strong brand recognition is an invaluable reward of authentic branding. Branding your business authentically allows for your brand to soon be recognized in a lot of places. It’s not an overnight thing but still, who wouldn’t want that? This reason alone should convince anyone that branding is important, but don’t leave just yet. We’ve got two more.
If you were to do a Google search on how many similar businesses there are to yours, you would be amazed to see how many there are. For example, there are 636,249 landscaping companies in the U.S.
Holy hell that’s a lot!
If you own a landscaping company, I’m sure you don’t want to get lost in the competition. That’s every business owner's nightmare. This is where branding can help.

This was going to be her first time going and we didn’t want her to get scared for the rest of her life.
In our research, we saw a lot of dental websites. Legit, like 25+ websites. One thing that stood out was how many of these websites were so outdated with branding from the 80s and 90s. We found ourselves not resonating with those types of sites because we viewed them as not valuing the best for their business. In our minds, it brought their credibility down. What other things in their business are they not valuing? Hopefully not the dental machinery or technology.
We stumbled upon a site that had very modern branding, great messaging, and just solid marketing. In our minds, this was a very credible dentist and we made an appointment. Now, I know you didn’t choose to read this blog to hear a detailed story about our kid’s first dentist appointment so we’ll spare you the details, but it was such a great experience.
It also proved our theory of branding directly relates to credibility. We chose this dentist because their branding made us assume they were credible. This dentist invested in their branding and gained a loyal customer.
Investing in authentic branding is crucial to your business. It will improve brand recognition, set you apart from the competition, and establish your credibility. Whatever the cost is, invest in your branding. It will give you a return on your investment. We’ve yet to hear any business owner regret investing in their branding.
